Dilemma: Security or Freedom in the Shade of Terror

Proposals:

fighting fear and terror with information and education

Our proposal to solve this problem is to get more information about terror. We have a great fear of terror and there is not that much to fear. So we want more information about the threat of terror, so that people won’t be so afraid. We also want more information about the different groups of people and different religions. More information would create a better understanding between people and maybe that would prevent a lot of conflicts that in the end could lead to terror attacks.
So we want more information and education, so we can get a better understanding of each other, and if we could get rid of all the prejudice the world would be a better place for all of us.

Terror and education

We think that people in countries like Afghanistan need to be educated, so that you avoid terrorists being formed, because they do not have anything to do and risk deciding to become muslim extremists. We believe that you can avoid that by putting all children to school, so they can have a career, instead of choosing to be a terrorist as their career.

And if these countries' governments can't make a proper educational system, I think we highly developed countries (the EU) should step in and help them make one.

A cry for help

Political parties stimulate the majority and promise them that THE OTHERS will be crushed, or in a modern way that they will find the truth, peace, justice and so on.
Since the terrorist attacks of September 11 our leaders found a way to convince us (and it is working quite well) to vote them by saying things like “we will go against the evil”. What is this evil I keep asking myself? I don’t get it and I’m afraid I never will.
“Terrorists are monsters” for some “Muslims are monsters”. Terrorists are not monsters they are human just like us but they were educated to sacrifice themselves and others for ideals that we categorize as absurd and Muslims are very educated and civilized people and it is a bigger crime than terrorism to accuse and discriminate them just because the world has failed to give a good example to those that we call “monsters”.
Politicians and political parties must cooperate with nongovernmental organizations and raise funds to help spread education and medicine. This is the good example their position forces them to give. We sent troops in Afghanistan, Iraq but I wonder how many teachers were sent how many psychologists were sent. Teachers are a very big problem because only few of them are qualified.
We moan our victims, innocent people that have died. But who cares about children how died from diseases in the Middle East.. Most of the terrorists have experienced these losses. That is why they see only one way, the one that we see on the news. Terrorism is a desperate cry for help that our leaders failed to hear. Instead they impose security measures that affect all citizens, and sent more troops to hunt down the “monsters”.
Why none of them went to visit these countries, I doubt that they will be killed just as they arrive, if they bring food, medicine and clothes.
By helping them we make us a very big favour.

What to do

I propose that we should be more critical when we are letting some immigrants get to our country. Of course if they are refugees because of war and terror, then the country has to accept to let them in. We have to help people who really need it.
Sadly sometimes there are some immigrants who make a lot of trouble, but for these people the government has to be consistent. Maybe the first time they make problems we can ignore it, and give them a warning, but if they the following day go out and make some crime again, and then we send them home at once. It sounds little tough, but in that way we get a more integrated society, and we will change our view of the immigrants, because the bad ones would be sent home, and then we wouldn’t hear all the bad news about immigrants all day. That is my suggestion for a better society for the immigrants and us.
